Things are Growing Update

Things are doing so well in this terrarium!  I wanted to share!

Two new fern fronds. Almost have the humidity adjusted properly.  I do need to clean the leaves of the plants.  Thinking of trying a dry Q-tip instead of spraying with distilled water...some of that dirt is very stubborn!

The moss has grown new tips under this berry!  You can also see little, white roots that the berry vine has sent out into the humid environment.

Good shots of the new fern fronds and the berries!  Tricky to get nice, clear shots...I think the lighting has to be just perfect.  Sometimes the colors look muted or washed out.  This is particularly true when I try to use the flash.

That's all for now.  I have made another terrarium that I plan to photograph and share soon!

Local Fauna Inspires

Warm weather always lifts my spirit and I love to run and hike.  There are so many cool, little plants in my area.  I wish I knew all their species names.  Seems I find something new every time I go for a run or hike! I gathered a few specimens and made these little jewels.

The little owl is sitting on a root I found while running on a new trail in the woods.  The condensation on the glass reminds me of a foggy morning and the little "tree" sprouting up behind the old root of the "fallen mother tree" looks like a young pine tree...makes me want to name my terrariums!

After a week in this one, things are starting to stand up and a new fern frond has unfurled!  I didn't realize that center plant had grown so much until I put these pics side by side!

Week 1
Day 1
I love making these!

While I was Gone

I've been away for a while and had completely forgotten that I started this blog!  Still making terrariums though.  Made this one for my grandmother.

This one was for the birthday of a friend's daughter.

And, this one is just because I love lichen!

I so enjoy making these!
